We understand that this is a very unsettling time for everyone and protecting children's mental health and wellbeing is of the utmost importance.  Please read the government publications about this if you have not already done so:  Information for parents and carersLooking after your feelings

Some very useful advice can be found on the mental health website on Talking to your children about the coronavirus pandemic:

1. Start by acknowledging that it is OK to be concerned

2. Find the balance in consuming news

3. Let them know the facts and offer safety

4. Talk about vulnerability and responsibility

It is very important that you take the time to look after yourself too.

Reflection time

If you would like to spend some peaceful time connecting and reflecting with your child, you may like to take a look at these collective worship materials which have been designed for parents to share with their children at home by some of our friends at the Diocese of Guildford.  Children are used to having an 'assembly' time every day and these might help to fill that gap for them.
